DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT
They are native to China, now goldfish were introduced throughout the world.
 
DESCRIPTION
Goldfish breeds vary in size and coloration. Goldfish have two pairs of pair fins - pectoral and pelvic fins. They do not have scales on head, their eyes are big. Goldfish may grow to a maximum length of 45 cm and a maximum weight of 3 kg, but although this is rare.

REPRODUCTION

Goldfish reach sexual maturity usually at 2 years. In wild spawning takes place in summer. A female can produces about thousand eggs at intervals of 8-10 days during the breeding period. It breeds at a temperature range of 18-20° C; eggs hatch in 4-5 days.

DIET

It feeds on a wide range of food including plants, small crustaceans, insects, zooplankton and detritus.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOR

Goldfish are gregarious, in the wild it lives in relatively large swarms. Goldfish are not very aggressive, it is good to combine only breeds with similar body type.
 
LONGEVITY
They can live approximately up to 25 years.
